Can you think of anything more tranquil than a luxury riverside glamping getaway? Imagine waking to the gentle lap of water on the shore of your very own private beach. Pure bliss.
Described as being like living inside a fairy-tale, The Boatshed is a sublime waterfront property. Situated on a traditional working farm in mid-Wales along the foreshore of the River Vyrnwy, the location is idyllic. Learn more about the farm, perhaps even bottle feed a lamb, join in events at the neighbouring campsite or just enjoy the peace. It has everything you need to let go, de-stress and relax. Feel the warm embrace of the great outdoors as you reconnect with both nature and your loved ones. And don’t forget the dog – they’ll have the time of their life swimming in the river! Switch off from the hassles of everyday life and enjoy unspoiled time together in this stunning location.
Rustically inspired by nature, the interior is simply a delight. The open plan design is cleverly managed to maximise the feeling of space. The perfectly placed king-size bed invites you to sprawl between the sheets and luxuriate in the early morning river view. Behind this, you’ll find a sofa (which can easily convert to a single bed for a third person). Light the log burner and enjoy the crackling flames as you take the edge off a chilly evening. Cooking facilities are also provided in the form of a single hob, mini oven and that all important kettle for your morning cuppa! Wile away the day with the selection of board games, or fully reconnect with nature and try your hand at bird spotting. Binoculars and guides provided! The Boatshed also houses a private loo and sink – no midnight trudges in the dark to find the toilet here!
Outside The Boatshed
Simply roll out of bed and you’ll be on your very own private balcony overlooking the beautiful river. Freshen up in the luxury shower block – just a minute walk away from The Boatshed. Or go wild and take a refreshing swim in the cool, clean river water. You can enjoy your own private, secure garden when the river is high. But when the river is low, you have access to your very own gravel beach. Cook riverside in the firepit. or sway gently in the hammock with a favourite book. And when night falls cuddle around the flickering flames and lose yourselves in an awe-inspiring ceiling of stars. Whatever you choose to do, embrace the magic of this unique glamping location.
The Boatshed is ideal for nature lovers. Nestled into the stunning Welsh countryside, you’ll be desperate to don your hiking boots and explore the many walking trails in the area. To begin with you could head over to the small market town of Welshpool which lies on ‘the Monty’ canal line. A beautiful spot to enjoy a scenic cycle or walk. Slightly further afield you will find Lake Vyrnwy on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park which boasts open countryside views and spectacular waterfalls. And if you fancy it, hire a boat and canoe and head out onto the lake itself. For history buffs (and those with green fingers) the gorgeous Powis Castle and Garden is well worth a visit. A National Trust property, with sensational gardens and a lovely coffee shop.
Welshpool and Llanfair Steam Railway offer some great events and experiences – perfect for the little (and not so little) rail enthusiast. And you can even bring your horse along. There is a paddock onsite that comfortably houses two horses. Book ahead and experience the Rainbow Trails through Dyfnant and Vrwyny Forests, including the famous Melangell Horse Riding Trail.
