Spinks Nest Holiday Cottage
Explore the endless marshlands and serene scenes found beneath the vast open skies of North Norfolk, before returning to a characterful cottage in a cluster of buildings with over 250 years of history. With divinely dreamy interiors and buckets of cosy character, we promise you’ll be smitten the second you pass through it’s wooden stable door.
If Vogue did holiday cottages, we don’t think that the result would be far different from the spectacular Spinks Nest Cottage. Lovingly restored and renovated by husband and wife team Ana and Alan, the cottage has a traditional flint exterior and is situated in the historical hamlet of Hunworth, with history reaching as far back as the Domesday Book.
Decadent designer pieces sit stylishly alongside intriguing, eclectic items, aiming to capture the unique botanical ambience of a gardener’s cottage. A lovely log burner keeps the cottage cosy during cooler months, and a king-size bed with a 9000 spring wool mattress promises a delightfully deep sleep. Not to be missed is the sublime sunken bath, where you can bathe in bliss surrounded by lush green potting plants.
The cottage enjoys a small garden and convenient off-road parking space, making it the ideal choice for those travelling with any four-legged friends. In spring and summer, the owners recommend throwing open the top half to take in the evening echoes of the owls and birds nearby.
Situated only a short stroll from lovely local the Hunworth Bell, you can easily enjoy the gorgeous gastro-fare on offer there, or venture further afield to the Neptune at Hunstanton where mouthwatering, Michelin-starred meals are served only a stone’s throw from the sea.
Enjoying the best of both the land and the coast, the cottage is perfectly positioned for day trips to Wells-Next-The-Sea which has a lively local scene and beautiful, vast beach of golden sands and boutique beach huts. Also nearby is Sheringham, the entire Norfolk Coast AONB and Cromer, should you fancy sampling some of the renowned fresh Cromer crab.
