Here you will find Resilient Woodlands Retreat; two luxurious eco glamping cabins lovingly named Coppice Cabin and Woodsman Cabin. Set in an elevated position with panoramic views over the Severn estuary, these wonderful cabins provide the perfect oasis to relax and unwind. Located near the lovely rural village of Woolaston, these cabins are the perfect place to explore the local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. That’s if you can even drag yourself away from your own tranquil cabin!
Situated on the edge of a private coppice woodland these hand built eco cabins are the perfect place for couples to getaway or for friends to reunite. The owners are passionate about sustainable management of local woodlands. Their aim being to create a safe habitat for wildlife and beautiful environment for guests to enjoy. The cabins were built locally with sustainable materials, carefully designed to make them as energy efficient and sustainable as possible without losing any luxury. If you have a four legged friend that also loves holidays then the Coppice Cabin will welcome them with a bespoke bed, food & water bowls and even a doggy wash station outside!
Inside the cabins
Despite both being the same size and design each cabin at Resilient Woodlands Retreat has its own unique and unusual quirks. Both feature a king-size bed in the master bedroom with an organic luxury mattress, fluffy pillows and divine quilts. A comfy, full size double futon provides a bed for an extra two guests. Each cabin also has a spacious bathroom with mains pressure hot water and traditional toilet, eco friendly toiletries are provided. For extra cosiness there is underfloor heating and a wood burning stove making it a great place to stay all year round! Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with an eco fridge so you can cook up some simple meals. Then sit back to enjoy your delights around a drop leaf oak table which can seat up to four.
Enjoy nature right on your doorstep from your own covered decking area. The woodland glamping cabins are situated between a wildflower meadow and coppice woodland. So you will have the opportunity to spot some wildlife right outside. A BBQ with sustainable charcoal is available so you can enjoy some alfresco dining on those long summer days.
Most importantly, each cabin has it’s own wood fired hot tub! Perfectly situated behind the cabins in total privacy under a tree canopy. The best way to relax after a busy day exploring the wonderful Forest of Dean.
If getting back to nature is what you seek, then the cabins at Resilient Woodlands Retreat will be the perfect getaway for you. Not just for the rustic and handcrafted accommodation, but the range of courses they provide from wildfire cooking to woodland foraging. If you venture beyond the borders, the cabins are set in a great spot to explore the Forest of Dean. Lydney Park Estate is ten minutes away from your cabin and boasts some hidden Roman ruins and colourful gardens. Symonds Yat Rock is also nearby, a famous viewpoint well known for it’s bird spotting.
For the adventurers amongst us there’s an endless list of activities! With acres of ancient woodland to be explored it’s no surprise that this is a popular walking and cycling destination. Many trails and routes can be found online including a lovely 4.5 acre Sculpture Trail. This area is also perfect for those wanting to do some climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing and even tree top zip wire adventures.
There are so many attractions to enjoy before retreating to your lovely cabin, this list really does go on! Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo is definitely worth a visit along with Clearwell caves, Puzzlewood, Dean Heritage Centre and many many more.
