Guests have full access to the quaint private garden bordered with calming streams and an abundance of shrubs and wildlife. On those long summer months, there is no better place than relaxing outside in the garden whilst smelling those mouth-watering meals being cooked up on the BBQ. An abundance of walks leading right from your doorstep are all waiting to be explored.
Highbrook Cottage is nestled away in a hidden rural location, therefore we recommend bringing your supplies with you so you don’t have to leave your calming oasis.
New Radnor is your nearest village to pick up some essentials. Also well known for its small waterfall nicknamed Water Break-its-Neck. There are three different walks to explore near to the waterfall, all ranging in time and difficulty. Be sure to spot the fallen tree with pennies placed into it and the romantic messages engraved in stone on the right of the footpath right by the waterfall.
In Bleddfa there is the The Bleddfa Centre, a great place to explore some local artwork and stop off for a cup of coffee. Approximately seven miles away from Highbrook Cottage you will find Hergest Croft Gardens. A great place to take the family! Boasting a seventy acre garden with over 5000 rare trees and shrubs lovingly created by four generations of the same family.
If you are fed up with washing the dishes, the Red Lion Inn in nearby Llanfihangel-Nant-Melan serves up some delicious home cooked meals. It also has a lovely beer garden perfect for those sunny afternoon drinks. The Harp Inn restaurant is also a great place to indulge in a freshly prepared Sunday lunch using local products. If you are visiting Presteigne we recommend popping into No46 and buying some delicious treats and enjoy some tasty hot drinks and snacks.
