Dôl Swynol Glamping
Dôl Swynol Glamping
Situated in the ancient county of Ceredigion in Wales, a unique getaway awaits at Dôl Swynol Glamping. A charming, hand built cabin perfect for couples in need of some quality time together or solo travellers wanting a restorative break. Nestled in the corner of a large meadow all to yourselves, where Red Kites soar overhead and a babbling brook calmly runs through the middle. This is a quiet place, where you can simply relax and unwind – perhaps in the outdoor bath – or set out on an adventure to discover Wales.
Inside
Possessing everything you could possibly need for a few nights away along with extra home comforts. Dôl Swynol Glamping is your answer to wanting somewhere a little bit different but rather special to stay.
The open plan living area features a sumptuous king size bed with storage space underneath. Wake to the early morning birdsong and drift off to sleep listening to the gentle hoot of an owl. The cabin also has a beautiful, fully equipped wooden kitchen where you can cook up some culinary delights. There is a shower room which flaunts a shower, washbasin, flushing loo, fluffy towels and luxurious bathrobes.
You can stay warm & toasty all year round in this bespoke cabin thanks to the wood burning stove, Welsh throws and sheepskin rugs. During the warmer months, open up the windows and doors and let the outside in.
Outside
Dôl Swynol translates to Charming Meadow and that is exactly what your outdoor space is here. An enchanting setting where you can reconnect with nature and escape from city life, even just for a few days. One of our favourite features of Dôl Swynol Glamping is the outdoor bathtub. The perfect spot to stargaze in this area of Dark Skies. You can also cook al fresco here thanks to the BBQ or even toast some marshmallows and get cosy around the chiminea. You can also enjoy lazy afternoons reading your favourite book on the covered veranda.
Nearby
Dôl Swynol Glamping is located on the edge of the small village of Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, just 8 miles from the popular Welsh town of Aberystwyth, known simply as ‘Aber’. Here you can expect to find lots of independent shops, a Victorian promenade, the oldest pier in Wales, a steam railway, a lovely shingle beach, a castle and much more. Aber is also a foodie haven with an abundance of options to cater for all palettes and budgets. Ultracomida, Medina and Baravin are just to name a few.
For the cyclists amongst us, it is possible to cycle from your cabin to Aber via the Ystwyth Bike Trail. Or, cycle the trail inland to Tregaron. More cycle routes are provided in the cabin. There are plenty of walks nearby as well, both coastal and woodland trails. Explore the trails of Hafod Forest or Bwlch Nant yr Arian forest or head to the coast to hop on the Ceredigion Coastal Path.
The closest beach to Dôl Swynol Glamping is Aberystwyth, however Borth beach is also highly recommended as well as the Ynys Las sand dunes.
If cooking isn’t on the agenda, there are plenty of places to eat in Aber. If you don’t want to travel then the local Y Ffarmers pub in the village is only a few minutes walk away and a very good option. This welcoming gastro pub is the hub for the local community and serves some great food and warm Welsh hospitality.
