Dog Friendly Stays UK : 5 of our best breaks
Any devoted dog owner knows the pain of leaving your pooch behind when travelling, as well as the stress of where they will stay during your time away. Here at The Wanderlist we are firm believers that dogs are part of the family, which is why we strive to offer a marvellous mix of special spaces where you are welcome to bring along your four-legged friend. From dog-friendly cottages that offer wonderful walks direct from the doorstep to high-end hideaways where even Fido gets a welcome pack, we take a look at five of our most delightful dog-friendly escapes.
Ivy Cottage, Powys
Bursting with buckets of countryside charm, Ivy Cottage is perfect if all you’re after is peace, quiet and plenty of walks. A quintessentially classic interior offers original features as well as a cosy log-burner and lounge area (with dog blankets provided!) which is just perfect for that post-walk wind down.
Ivy Cottage also offers its own, enclosed private garden with outdoor dining furniture and seating, so that you can enjoy some al fresco eating whilst your dog has an evening amble on the lawn.
Located in the charming hamlet of Beguildy, this cottage is within easy access of the Offas Dyke Path and Beacon Hill, a 547-metre high summit with awe-inspiring views.

The Lamb, Somerset
Another one for fans of countryside cottages, the Lamb is a beautiful bolthole for two to enjoy along with a private hot tub and small outside area. Boasting a beautiful open fire in a luxurious lounge area, we can quite happily imagine holing up here for a blissful break.
Situated on a working sheep farm, there’s plenty of wonderful walks within the vicinity boasting far reaching views to the Mendip Hills. One particular circular walk from Shepton Mallet follows the river sheppey, snakes into the historical village of Doulton and allows you to admire the gorgeous gurgles of holy water of St Aldhem’s Well.

Surrounded by the seemingly endless plains of north Norfolk, this stunning stay is on the cusp of the Norfolk Coast AONB, with wonderfully wild walks to be enjoyed right from the doorstep.
There is a small outside area with seating for the two of you to enjoy, but what really steals the show is cosying up in front of the luxurious log burner with a good book or delicious hot chocolate.
