Covid-Friendly Staycations: The Rule of 6
With new Covid19 rules being introduced, you may be left feeling confused as to whether your staycation can go ahead, or what you’re allowed to plan under the current guidelines. After taking a look at the current rules across England and Wales, we’ve compiled a list of our Covid friendly getaways that sleep up to 6 people.
Whilst we have made every effort to ensure the information we are providing is current and correct, we would strongly recommend checking the local government rules in both England and Wales in case of any updates, as well as consulting the property owner before booking a Covid friendly staycation. (You can message the property owner directly via the property page on our website.)
As things currently stand, for a staycation in Wales are that you can only travel with up to 6 members of your household or extended household. Children under the age of 11 do not count, meaning there might be 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 children aged under 11. As long as they are all from the same household, this is okay.
The rules in England are very similar, except the 6 people can be from different households. There are not currently any restrictions on how far you can travel, only guidance to avoid travelling in a car or confined space with someone who is not from your household or support bubble.
In both cases, there cannot be any more than 6 adults present, or you will be fined. Face masks are also a requirement in both England and Wales in shops and in most common areas. If you are planning to visit a specific restaurant or tourist attraction, we would recommend getting in touch with them directly to find out their covid safety policies.
